A RESPONSE PRAYER

In Response to an invitation inspired by Psalm 90

Thank You Jesus, seated on high at the Father’s right hand,

advocating, praying for Your Church and for the world.

We praise You God, holy and upright in all that You do.

In Your time, You will end all sin and injustice, corruption and immorality,

right all wrongs and reward all loving service and all suffering for Your sake.

On that day, Christ will return with a triumphant shout, and

we shall be completely changed.

We shall see You in all Your glory, majesty, and power.

Whatever we may have to go through now is nothing

compared to the magnificent future You have in store for us—

an everlasting Kingdom of peace and righteousness that cannot be shaken.

 Until that day, plant in us a deeper burden for the world.

So many are living in fear, without hope, lost, and lonely—

rich, poor, young, and old alike.

Without Christ, we are prey to the one who comes to steal, kill, and destroy.

But in Christ, we have life, and have it abundantly.

We want this abundant life for our loved ones who have yet to know You,

for our friends and neighbors, our nation, our world.

We long for the day when the knowledge of You will fill the earth as the waters fill the sea,

when nations and peoples shall come as one to worship You!

We pray for the spiritual deserts

across the 10/40 Window, the frontiers of 21st century missions.

Lord Jesus, You are Rock of Ages, Living Water, Light of the World, Bread of life.

You have chosen to go into these desert places through us.

We are weak, but You are strong.  So, to You we come.

Lord of the Harvest:

Give us wisdom, faith, and strength to do the work, whatever the task;

courage to go, wherever You send us;

perseverance in trial, whatever the challenge;

and love for our neighbors, however different from us.

Remove fear and self-doubt.

Energize us with your love.

Open the door.  Show us the way.

Some are called to stay, support, and pray.

But some are called to go.

May You find us faithful

one team, worthy of Your trust.

Together, we will show others the way home to the Father

through Jesus Christ the Son, our only Savior and Lord.

In whose wonderful name we pray,

Amen.
