AN INVITATION

Inspired by Psalm 90

How can it be!

You, the timeless God, who

Spoke order over chaos

Called matter out of nothingness

Chose us and made a home for us with You

From age to age the same

We bless you O Lord, our Maker-Abba-Father-God

Man apart from You is homeless, orphaned

A speck in the universe

A sigh in the torrent of time

Life’s trophies are but trinkets

Vanities in the wind

Weight of sin

Wrath of God

Sick, hurting, displaced, alone

From dust to dust

Death awaits

Relent, repent, come home

Home to our Maker-Abba-Father-God

Help them, God, to come home to You!

My children, you know the way

You bring them home to Me

Empty and evil days you’ve known

But My love and mercy redeem each one

Wise and glad hearts--My pledge

To you and generations more to come

My forever favor for all mankind

My glory for all to see and share

You, My helper, I call you this day

Show them the way you’ve known

Show them the way home

Tarry no more

Leave your nice porches and neat backyards

Before night falls, hurry

Bring My lost children home to Me

2023

The year of My favor

Number your days and answer My call

Seek, knock, and ask Me the way

Walk through My door for you open wide

Fear not! Father awaits on yonder side

I am Emmanuel, Companion, Guide

Where’er you are, you’re ne’er alone

With Me you are forever home.
